Located just a short drive or bus ride from Christchurch CBD, the hostel is also close to the city's best beaches and has unlimited car parking for self-drive guests. The hostel boasts all our usual Haka extras - free unlimited WiFi, super friendly staff, modern amenities - but it also has a true Kiwi family vibe complete with vegetable garden and cosy log fire. Private rooms
Equipped with very comfortable double beds (or 2 comfortable single beds in the twin room). With funky room designs and colours, you’ll be sure to fall in-love! Bathrooms are shared amongst just a few other bedrooms. Each room has its own flat screen with a DVD player, so that you can relax and unwind in your own personal, private space. At Haka Lodge, we are all about value; we have free coffee and tea, plus you get free WiFi for each night that you stay with us. Travelling on a budget shouldn’t mean you have to settle for less; and with Haka Lodge Christchurch, you don’t need too!
When you stay in one of our private rooms, you have access to our premium shared facilities. You can relax and unwind from your travels in our large and spacious lounge. It features a huge flat-screen TV. For winter months we have a cosy log fire to relax in front of. We have a full-sized kitchen with all of the cooking utensils, cutlery, crockery and appliances that you will need. We have shared bathrooms that are modern and cleaned daily. When time is check in and check out?
Check-in is normally after 2.00pm. You need to check out by 10.00 am, but we are usually flexible to your needs as long as you let us know in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Our office closes at 8.00pm but we can leave a late-pack out for you so you can check yourself in; please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you will be later than 8.00pm. You can stop by earlier than the check-in time of 2pm and drop-off your bags and you can leave them here on the day you check out.
What are your office hours?
Our office is open from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm daily, if you are arriving after office hours please contact us 24 hours before your arrival so we can advise you of our late arrival procedures.
Is there parking available?
We do not have any parks on-property, but we are located in a well-lit cul-de-sac with plenty of off-street parking. Please let us know if you are bringing a car. Common sense applies, please keep your valuables out of sight and keep your car locked.
Do you have any lockable storage?
Yes, we do. Our private rooms are locked via a key, so you can store your valuables in the room. For our dorms, we have locks in the dorm room that are big enough to hold up to laptop-sized valuables. You will need to provide your own lock.
Is alcohol allowed?
You are welcome to drink alcohol that you have purchased in the common areas. Please do not take alcohol into the bedrooms and we ask that you be mindful of other guests – we enjoy a drink or two but we aren’t a party lodge!
What is your smoking policy?
We have a strict policy of no-smoking inside the lodge, but you are welcome to smoke outside. Please do it away from the building to be considerate towards others.
Why do I need a credit card to secure my booking?
We ask for your credit card details as a security measure, such as if you were to leave without paying or you were to set off the fire alarm. The fire alarm has a $1,500 fine – and if you are the cause of it, you will be charged! So please be careful with heaters and be careful in the kitchen.
Do you offer long term stays?
At certain types of the year we offer long-term accommodation if it is available at a reduced price. The minimal period for long-term prices is 1 week or longer. Please get in touch with us to see what we can do for you.
